We stayed at Trekkenning House with a group of 15 people (three families) from various parts of England, arriving just after Christmas and leaving on New Year’s Day. Our stay was absolutely fantastic, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend this special time of year.

The house itself is beautifully decorated and incredibly spacious, meaning that even with our large group, it never felt crowded. The games room was a hit with both adults and children, providing endless entertainment. The lounge was wonderfully cosy, perfect for the adults to relax and chat by the fire after long days exploring. Having two fireplaces (in the lounge and the games room) added so much charm and warmth, and the wood store was fully stocked to keep us toasty throughout the day.

We loved that Trekkenning House preserved its stunning period features while incorporating modern touches like excellent heating, beautiful lighting, and a well-equipped kitchen. Despite the frosty weather, we were always comfortably warm. The pantry and laundry/utility room were fantastic additions that we didn’t expect but found incredibly useful. It truly felt like living in a grand manor house.

The large dining table was another highlight, allowing all of us to sit together and enjoy meals as a group. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare and serve delicious meals, making it easy to cater for everyone. The cinema room on the top floor was a treat for the kids, giving them a dedicated space to hang out.

The sleeping arrangements were perfect, with three of the bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms—an excellent feature for a group of our size. We also enjoyed the hot tub and exploring the grounds, which were a joy to wander through. The location was ideal, being less than a 10-minute drive to Watergate Bay, where we spent some lovely time at the beach.

We had a fantastic New Year’s Eve party and felt Trekkenning House provided the perfect backdrop for creating unforgettable memories. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a large, comfortable, and beautifully maintained property for a group getaway.

Our family and friends had a fantastic time staying in the wonderful Trekenning House. This is a lovely, warm and beautifully decorated home from home with every detail thought of by the owners, who have created this truly special place to have a break, with every bedroom a delight to stay in. From the acres of land to wander, to the hot tub spa, outdoor sports facilities, table tennis, pool and games for children to the cinema room, wood burning fire, relaxing lounge and fully equipped kitchen and spacious dining room, there is everything you need to relax, unwind and re-energise. I wish to express how delighted we were with our stay Trekenning House. (1st - 4th March 2024)
The owners have been lovely to deal with the whole way through our booking and  the house itself is beautifully stylish and accommodated our large family group superbly. The kitchen is top quality and literally had everything we needed, including 2x dishwashers, separate utility room and a pantry.  The dining room is divine, we hired a personal chef to cook a 3 course meal for us on our first night, (he did all the dishes) (Chef Sargent). What a wonderful treat for us all and his food was incredibly delicious, I can highly recommend him.
The bedrooms are spacious and have quality furniture and soft furnishings, there is a snug with a wood burner, lovely quiet room. But the main room we spent most of the indoor time in was the Games room, which is spacious and warm (another log burner) with lots to do including a built in bar, pool table and a Subuteo football table which the kids loved, plus sofas for comfort.
Outside there is a very large hot tub, seating area, beautiful grounds to explore and a lovely courtyard area with fairy lights. All entered via double ironed electronic gates.
Our stay here was one of the best weekends we have ever had, and all of us have travelled a lot, so have experienced many types of holiday stays. We loved it so much that we want to return for another holiday or weekend as soon as we can.
I have no hesitation at all in highly recommending Trekenning House as a beautiful, fully equipped place to enjoy a holiday or  like us a family birthday gathering.

An incredible house! We had a fantastic week at Trekenning House celebrating my Dad’s 70th birthday. The house caters for all the family, has plenty of space, in a brilliant location and we’d love to stay there again. A big thank you from our family for a truly memorable stay.

What a fantastic experience staying at Trekenning House!! The property ticked every box. Ideally located being 15 mins from Newquay it had quality oozing throughout. Bedrooms were fantastic, beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was the focal point of our time spent in the house with the games room a close second. The garden space was great for the kids and the hot tub great for the grown ups. We were there to celebrate a wedding and couldn’t have picked a better venue!! Simply stunning!

Trekenning will totally spoil you for staying at any other rental. We booked a week to celebrate an important birthday and had the most fabulous time. From arriving to the fabulous and generous welcome pack, we loved every minute. Only eight of us but we found the accommodation perfect whether we wanted to gather together or break off to explore the cinema or music/games room (we can add to the vinyl collection, just say!). Joe and Kate have worked hard renovating this property and their eye for stylish yet practical furnishings and accessories show real creativity and understanding of the luxe market. Perfectly locate to explore the area but plenty to do in staying in - brilliantly appointed kitchen and as we're all foodies this was essential. We hired the 'Chef in my Home' who is familiar with the house, well worth it for a treat. We are already trying to think up a reason to return.
